Obituary of Joseph Nemeth

Joseph Nemeth, 83, formerly of Hampton and South Plainfield, NJ passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020 at Brakeley Park Care Center in Phillipsburg, NJ. Joseph was born in Hungary on June 7, 1936 to the late Joseph and Theresa (Horvath) Nemeth. Joseph was self-employed contractor who owned and operated Joseph Nemeth Construction Co in South Plainfield, NJ until his retirement in 1991. His beloved wife Phyllis passed away in 1974. Joseph was a member of the Hungarian-American club in New Brunswick. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his farm during his retirement and spending time alongside the pond that he and his sons constructed on his property. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Nemeth and his wife Jennifer, Mark Nemeth and his wife Stephanie; Sisters, Elizabeth Szerencsi and Yolanda Shalayda and her husband Robert; Brothers, Frank Nemeth and his wife Christine, and Alex Nemeth and his wife Judy; and Sister-in-law Carol Nemeth; grandchildren, Devon Hunt, Dylan Nemeth, Kurt Nemeth, Geir Nemeth, Beck Nemeth, Brynn Nemeth and 3 great-grandsons, Jared Jr, Julian, and Jordan Hunt. In addition to his wife, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother Steven Nemeth and brother-in-law Alex Szerencsi. Services will be private. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
