Obituary of Robert L. Howell

Robert L. Howell Sr, 95, formerly of Washington and Stewartsville, NJ passed away peacefully on June 22, 2020 at the Phillipsburg Care Center. Robert was born on September 9, 1924 in Harmony, NJ to the late Clark C. and Edna P. "Rush" Howell. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School class of 1942. He was employed by Ingersoll Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ in the drilling department until his retirement in 1983. Robert was a member and past Grand Master of the F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #52 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was a social member of the Mecsey Bishop American Legion in Stewartsville, NJ. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and working on lawn mowers. Robert is survived by a daughter, Paula DeBenedetto and her husband Peter; Sons, Robert Howell Jr. and his wife Linda and Donald Howell; a stepson, Robert Bakley; a brother, Walter Howell; a sister, Carol Roiger; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Robert was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Helen Berger Thomas and his 2nd wife, Laura Bakley Howell. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday June 27, 2020 from 9-10 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral Services will be celebrated immediately following at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Musconetcong Valley cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
