Obituary of Elizabeth Slack

Elizabeth "Betsy" Slack, 69, of Asbury, NJ passed away peacefully on June 28, 2020 at St. Luke's Bethlehem Hospital. Betsy was born on June 24, 1951 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Warren Edwin Diefendorf and Dorothy Endicott Kelley. Betsy graduated from Mount Vernon High school class of 1969. She earned her bachelor's degree at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Betsy and her loving husband Craig Slack were married in 1975. She was a Math Teacher at William Annin Middle School in Basking Ridge, NJ for many years, and previously taught at Franklin Township Elementary School. Betsy was a long-time parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington, where she served as an Elder, an Usher, and enjoyed volunteering for the Church mission trips. Recently retired, she enjoyed gardening and the cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Betsy is survived by her husband of 45 years Craig; a daughter, Kelley Smallberger and her husband Ray; sons, Terrence Slack and his wife Leigh-Anne, Travis Slack and his wife Cristina, and Cody Slack; three grandchildren, Leila and Aaron (Terrence) and Reagan (Travis); a sister, Gretchen Bugsch, and a brother, Warren Diefendorf III. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to the charity of your choosing.
