Obituary of Henry Dodge

Henry Dodge, 73, of Oxford, NJ passed away peacefully on July 21, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Henry was born on September 30, 1946 in Morristown, NJ to the late Philip and Ellen Dodge. Henry grew up in Morristown and graduated from Morristown High School class of 1964. He served his country proudly in the USMC and was stationed in the Dominican Republic during the Vietnam War. Henry married his Soulmate Elaine “Smith” in 1966 and just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Henry was employed by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 863 in Mountainside, NJ. Henry dedicated most of his life to volunteering. He was a life member of the Oxford Fire Department. During his 45 years membership he held many Officers positions including Trustee, Treasurer and Secretary Henry was also a member of the NJ State Firemen’s Exempt Association and a member of the Oxford Firemen’s Social Club. He was also the founding member of the group WashOx. Henry loved hunting, fishing, camping, Jeeping and vacationing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Elaine; A daughter, Sandra Dodge; Sons, John Tritt, Edward Dodge and his wife Patricia; Brothers, James Dodge and Michael Perkins; Sisters, Donna Todd and Susan Perkins; Grandchildren, Hailey Spinks, Mathew Dodge and Brayden Spinks; Great Granddaughters, Luna and Riley. Henry was preceded in death by his brothers, Philip and Colin Dodge. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday July 24, 2020 from 5-8 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. Oxford, NJ.
