Obituary of Betty Jane Hoffman

Betty-Jane Hoffman,91, formerly of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020 with family at her side. Betty-Jane was born at the family home in High Bridge, NJ on February 16, 1929 to the late Walter and Mary (Snyder) Witte. She was a graduate of Hampton High School class of 1947. Betty-Jane was primarily a homemaker but earlier in her life she was employed at the Washington Hosiery Mill in Washington, NJ. She was a past member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Washington, NJ. She was a member of the Washington Women’s Club and a member of the Spruce Run Lutheran Church Women’s Club. Betty-Jane enjoyed gardening, reading, ceramics and hand crafts. She was a devoted fan of the Flemington dirt track racing. Her beloved husband of 70 years, Vincent C. Hoffman, passed away 2018. Betty-Jane is survived by her loving children, Brenda Stone, Valerie Wilgocki (Tom) and Carl Hoffman (Annie). Her 7 beloved grandchildren Melissa, Sarah, Jeffrey, Ashley, Dylan, Brandon, and Emmett. As well as 5 great grandchildren Addison, Austin, Carter, Ebony, and Destiny. In addition to her husband Vincent, Betty-Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Charles Witte and a sister, Alice Stecker. Services will be held privately for the family. Interment will take place at Spruce Run Cemetery in Glen Gardner, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
