Obituary of Martin J. Rigoletti

Martin John Rigoletti Jr., 88, of Hampton, NJ passed away peacefully on November 9, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Martin was born on February 13, 1932 in Paterson, NJ to the late Martin J. Rigoletti Sr and Lola Iris "Van Ness' Rigoletti. Martin graduated from Boonton High School class of 1951. He was a master carpenter and builder, he owned and operated High On The Hill Contracting in Denville, NJ until his retirement in 2002. He loved hunting and was a world class sportsman. He traveled many times on safari to Africa and hunted all of North America. His trophy room rivals Cabela's. Martin was also a member of Safari Club International. He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his garden. He was a Notre Dame Football and NY Giants Football fan. Martin shared his love of woodworking by generously donating many hand-crafted pieces to his grandchildren's fundraisers over the years. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Jean "McGrath'; a son, Kenneth Eriksen and his wife Joni; daughters, Lydia Roth and her husband Curtis; Marliene Waldron; sons Martin J. Rigoletti III and his wife Lynda and Mark Rigoletti; a sister, Nancy McGrath; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a niece, Sharon McGrath; Martin was preceded in death by a son, Robert Rigoletti. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ARC of Warren County via https://www.arcwarren.org/arc-foundation/support-the-arc Please specify that you are making the donation on behalf of Martin Rigoletti, Jr., and that all monies donated are to be earmarked for the scholarship fund for special needs children to attend camp. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday December 12, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:30 PM at the family home located at 159 Bryan's Rd. Hampton, NJ 08827 for a repass luncheon. A Celebration of Martin's Life will be held immediately following at 3:30 PM at his home where friends and family are invited to share stories and memories of Martin.
