Obituary of Frederick George Senn

Frederick George Senn II, 57, of Hampton, NJ and previously Wyckoff, NJ passed away on May 11, 2021 at his home with loved ones by his side. Fred was born on October 11, 1963 in Ridgewood, NJ to Katharine Senn, (nee Hoffman) and the late John J. Senn. Fred received his Bachelor's of Science from the Syracuse University Whitman School of Management in 1986. He married the love of his life, Mary ("Moo") Quackenbush, also born and raised in Wyckoff, in 1994. They had dated in 8th grade and again in high school, but didn't meet again until their 10th high school reunion, after which they became inseparable, spending 26 years together as a truly happy and devoted couple. Fred could fix anything and was often called upon to do so, generously lending a hand whenever someone asked. Professionally, he worked as a troubleshooter for AT&T for 30 years, starting out in a group of 1200, which down-sized until he remained one of the last men standing with his boss, who never gave him less than a perfect performance review. Fred was the guy who had to stay up all night in case something went awry when the President's red emergency landline telephone at the White House was being overhauled. Fred retired 3 years ago, happily staying home and taking care of his beautiful yard and his swimming pool. His cannonballs were legendary! Raised in a family where the home garage doubled as an auto repair shop, Fred loved working on his cars. He also collected antique pinball machines, juke boxes, slot machines and stereo equipment, all of which he expertly brought back to life. His basement playroom was filled with game machines and neon signs, as well as his drum set. Fred loved music. He was an avid concertgoer and he played with several bands over the years. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and his mother, Katharine Senn. He is also survived by his siblings, Jay Senn, Ray Senn, Fae Korteweg, and Elena Asencio and his nephews, Armand ("A.J.") Asencio and Brandon Asencio. Fred is predeceased by his father, John Senn and his brother Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred's name to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9899 Main Street, Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872. It is the family's wish that all services remain private and under the direction of Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
