Obituary of Catherine Ann Papp

Catherine Ann Papp, 82, of Stewartsville, NJ passed away from this life and on to the next after a long struggle with several health issues on June 14, 2021. Catherine was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 11, 1939 to the late Albert and Anna Dorotzak and had three siblings, Veronica, Mary Ann and Albert. In 1958 she met and married John L. Papp, and together they raised four children while running a successful family-owned business. Following her divorce from John after 30 some years, Catherine worked for NORWESCAP where she met Portia, a great friend. She later worked as the parish secretary for St. Joseph's in Washington, and finally retired from the Washington Boro Tax Office after 10 years service. Catherine enjoyed Bingo at St. Joseph's on Wednesdays, road trips to nowhere that ended in ice cream, Mahjong with friends, light gambling in AC, card games with her grandchildren, going through family photos, and a good plate of steamed clams, among other things. She would want to thank Ed H for bringing her communion at home, Deb for keeping her company, Chrissy and Dina, who kept everything in order. She would want Joan D to know that their 40+ years friendship was treasured. Cathy would want all her family to know how much she loved and appreciated their love and support in her life. There are many who helped, and she thanks you all. Cathy's sense of humor will be missed by her sister Mary Ann and brother in law Robert Curry. She will be sorely missed by her children and their spouses: Elizabeth of Frenchtown, NJ, John and Susan of Colorado Springs, CO, Mike and Shelly of Orefield, PA, and Charles and Barbara of Stokesdale, NC. Gramma Cathy will also be missed by her 16 grand and great-grandchildren: Brian, Kathleen, John, Gregory, Christopher, Sean, Dominic, Michelle, Jake, Bradley, Sarah, Sydney, Elizabeth, Kyle, Ryan and Andy Lynne. A Memorial Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
