Obituary of Juliana Slean

Juliana Slean, 91, passed away on February 25, 2025, at Paragon Village in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born on January 21, 1934, in Voitsberg, Austria. Juliana dedicated many years of her life working at Sammy's Ye Old Cider Mill in Mendham, NJ, until her retirement in 2014. She found great joy in baking and gardening, passions that she lovingly shared with her family and friends. A courageous breast cancer survivor, she inspired those around her with her resilience, warmth and strength. She is survived by her children, Lisa Loewen and her husband Frank, and Brian Slean and his wife Lisette. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Julia, Kelsi, Lainie, Aiden, and Maya. Juliana was predeceased by her beloved husband, Felix, who passed in 2023, as well as her sisters, Annie Sigrist and Alma Wunderlin, and her brothers, Franz Pachatz and Louis Pachatz. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Entombment at Hackettstown Union Cemetery will be held privately.
