Obituary of John Slawik

John Slawik August 7, 1959 – May 17, 2025 John Slawik, 65, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away on May 17, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He was born on August 7, 1959, in Chorzów, Poland, to the late Franciszek Slawik and Janina Siwak. In 1984, John immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life and new opportunities. He married the love of his life, Alicia, in 1992, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, hard work, and family. John was a dedicated entrepreneur who owned and operated Equipit, LLC, where he sold bakery equipment for many years. His passion for baking extended beyond his business—he found great joy in baking at home and was especially proud of making his own smoked Polish sausage, a cherished tradition he kept alive with care. He enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing new cultures. Above all, John treasured time spent with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia; his daughter, Katherine; and their adored grand-cats, Casper and Poncho. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Marion Slawik, who passed away in 2022. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 22nd, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey, 07882. A memorial service celebrating John's life will begin at 5:30 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the American Cancer Society.
