Obituary of Irene M. Broennle

Irene Mary Broennle, 100, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on January 14, 2020 at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ. Irene was born on May 23, 1919, in Harriman, NY to the late George and Margaret Roach. Irene was a graduate of Newton High School Class of 1938. She married the love of her life Herman Broennle. Her family was her life and she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington. Irene was a member of the New Jersey Astronomical Association and also the Vernon Oakes Society. In her younger days, Irene was a well known local bowler. She and Herman traveled across the country in the family motorhome. Irene treasured her children and grandchildren. Her passing leaves an emptiness in all their hearts. She is survived by her loving sons: William and his wife Mary Anne and Robert and his wife Maureen. Her 5 cherished grandchildren: Eric Broennle, Nikole Comerro, Michele Coletti, Michael Broennle and Douglas Broennle and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Herman Broennle who passed in 2002, her brother George Roach and sisters Henrietta "Letty" Chase and Margaret "Peggy" Martin. In abiding with her wishes, all services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Irene's name to the NJ Astronomical Association at www.njaa.org. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
