Lorraine, how often I have thought of you... and wondered where life took you. I recall playing games in the Dorm at Madison College and you looking me straight in the eye and saying, "Oh, Babs, you're sooo obnoxious." But that was okay. That was simply the dynamic among friends. And I recall being with you at Pam's wedding. You said, "Well, I'll give this marriage about a year!" Then you dropped a little round canape off you dish and kicked it under the table just as you noticed the bride's mother walking behind us. You were right about the marriage, by the way. And I visited you in your first apartment (duplex) near Harrisonburg (Weyers Cave), where you were teaching 4th grade, I think. You said you gave your students 15 extra points if they spelled your name correctly. And there was the "Link" episode....
So, today I thought about you again and googled your name. Up came this obituary and I am heartbroken even though it has been nearly five decades since I last saw you. Thank you for being in my life and for setting me straight so many times. God bless you!

I'm just finding out that this lovely soul passed on from this earth. She taught me in 4th grade at Weyers Cave Elementary School in Virginia in 1974. She was beautiful inside and out.

I met Lorraine for a very short time before her death. I instantly got a great vibe from her!! She was in so much pain from her hip surgery..... she used ice , exercised alittle, still so much pain.then all the coughing started and it was endless .I went to store and bought her delsym to help with the cough..bless her heart..I called to check on her that night...still coughing and pain in left hip using ice .....that was our last contact before she went to be with the Lord. I’’ll never forget meeting sister Marlyn and helping to clear out her lovely home...I have so many memories of her in my home now never to be forgotten.I was lucky enough to buy her car so that’s a daily reminder of her ..she’s watching out for us from heaven we all will see her in heaven !!! Love you Marilyn and Lorraine

Lori was a kind and dear friend. We got to know each other while serving the outreach Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Ashland about 5 years ago and also St. Ann's Church. Lori was always very kind-hearted, always thinking of others and their needs. Lori was intensely devoted to Mary, said her Rosary daily and was deeply immersed in her faith. Very often I would get an email from Lori super early in the morning and tell me she just said the Rosary or was about to. You know the beginning of the Hail Mary when we say: 'Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee'.....I can only think that Mary was waiting for Lori when she died and said: Hail Lori, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Welcome home! Missing you, my friend. Helen
