Obituary of Christina J. Cambria
Christina Juliana Cambria, 95, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2021 at her residence, The Chelsea at Brookfield in Belvidere, NJ.
She was born on March 30, 1926 in Kearny, NJ to the late Jonas and Anna Blazas. In her early childhood days, she played tag and hide and seek with her five siblings, John, Joe, Charlie, Ann and Bessie. She also enjoyed swimming, playing baseball, and ice skating in West Hudson Park. As a teenager she went to many dances and drive-in movies. Later, Christina met her husband Carl at a dance.
Christina worked at the RCA in Harrison and later retired from the Motor Club of America in Newark. She was a member of the Rosary Society at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Kearny. In retirement, she especially enjoyed her volunteer work at the Craven Medical Center in New Bern, North Carolina before moving to Florida.
Chris and Carl enjoyed spending time at their trailer in the Poconos and travelling both at home and abroad. She liked to play bingo, table games, and cards. She loved her morning coffee while doing her word puzzles. Her friends at Chelsea were extremely impressed with her word game skills and champion bingo player status. Her favorite shows were Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She loved doing puzzles especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mostly she cherished time spent with her family.
Christina is predeceased by her devoted husband of 68 years, Carl F. She is survived by her loving sons Carl J. Cambria and his wife Debbie, Douglas Cambria and his wife Lynne; her grandchildren Carl D. Cambria and his wife Jennifer Diana, Adam Cambria and his wife Rebecca, and Courtney Cambria; and her great grandchildren Carl M., C. George, Logan, and Emma
Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A prayer service will immediately follow at 6:00PM at the funeral home.
