Obituary of Charles R Grisham

Charles R. Grisham, 78, of Washington, NJ passed away unexpectedly on May29, 2021 at his home. Charles was born on June 5, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Charles and Susie Ruth Grisham. He was a graduate of West Point High School, West Point, Mississippi, class of 1960 and he went on to attend Mississippi State University. Charlie owned and operated Formative International, which manufactured toys in Hong Kong. He would use his business to contribute to Toys for Tots and participated in making custom toys for unique and significant clients. His work took him all over the world, enabling him to see every continent besides Antarctica. Charlie was known to have a charming persona and loved making others laugh with his jokes and pranks. He enjoyed card tricks and was a skilled Bridge player. When Charlie was a young man, he raised dogs to compete in dog shows and he would often compete in local and state pool tournaments where he won several awards. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports and country western movies, but he mostly enjoyed the company of his friends and family. Charlie never missed one of his children's sporting events or practices and would often coach for their teams. He kept his mind sharp by reading fiction and historical nonfiction, and in his later years he was given the rank of honorary black belt. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ann-Mari, and his children; Kimberly Grisham, Charles Erik Grisham, and Kristina Grisham and her husband Aidan Kiernan. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kiersten Campbell, Kayla Campbell, and Theodore Kiernan. Charles also leaves behind a sister Ruth Westwood, as well as cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of Charles's life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Williams Irish Tavern, 101 East Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
