Obituary of Elaine Trachin

Elaine "Hope" Trachin, 84, of Washington, NJ passed away on November 30, 2021 at home. Elaine was born on August 28, 1937 in Somerville, NJ to the late Urias and Anna Moore Alpaugh. She was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1955. She married the love of her life William Trachin and celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 6 of this year. Elaine was employed at NJ Bell for many years prior to starting her family. Elaine always made her family and her home her top priority. She loved to clean and was known for how immaculate her home was at all times. She was an excellent baker and friends and family considered her Christmas cookies to be "world famous". Elaine enjoyed attending the symphony in Morristown. She was also a member of the Washington Woman's Club. She is survived by her loving children, son, Bart Trachin, daughter, Lynne Trachin, her grandchildren, Emily Klausfelder and Erik Klausfelder and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband William, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Duane Alpaugh, Janice Merritt, and Barbara Pletzer. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 12 – 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church Of Washington. 40 East Church St. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service celebrating Elaine’s life will begin at 1:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elaine's name to a charity of one's choice.
