Obituary of Christopher L Digilio

CHRISTOPHER LAXMAN DIGILIO Christopher Laxman, 36, son of Rudy M. and JoAnn DiGilio of Washington died on December 11, 2021, in Baltimore Maryland. Born in Pune India, Christopher, along with his sister Maria Laxmi were adopted into the DiGilio family in 1989. Chris' education began at the Playtime Preschool in Clinton NJ, and continued at Franklin Township School, and Warren Hills Regional High School. He was an avid soccer and tennis player and enjoyed fishing. Christopher joined the Marine Corp in 2004 and completed four deployments, including combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. After his military service, he married Danielle Banes of Franklin Township and had twin girls, Zya and Skylar, born in August 2016. He continued his education, earning an Associate's Degree from Warren County Community College, where he was the recipient of the Viper Award as a high achieving veteran, and a BS in Psychology at Farleigh Dickinson University. Christopher was deeply affected by his military service and suffered from severe PTSD which made his life very difficult. After three years in the Baltimore area where he sought some path to cope with the many challenges he faced, Chris died from an apparent drug overdose. Unfortunately, Chris was unable to love himself as much as he loved the people in his life, and as much as he was loved by his family and so many friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Chris was predeceased by his Grandparents John and Amelia Courtright, and Rudolph A. and Angelina DiGilio. He is survived by his parents, Rudy M. and JoAnn DiGilio, his brother Paul, his sister Maria Laxmi Warburton, her husband Justin, and their daughter Amelia Mae, his daughters Zya and Skylar and their mother Danielle, and a large and loving extended family. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. Burial at the Montana Mountain Cemetery will take place immediately following services. Masks are required and will be provided as needed. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Christopher's memory be directed to Holt International Children's Services, PO Box 2880, Eugene, OR 97402 or at www.holtinternational.org. Your gift will be used to help this wonderful organization to aid children in India with urgent needs that likely otherwise would go unmet.
