Obituary of Karen A Protopapas

Karen A. Protopapas, 51 of Washington Township, NJ passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital. Karen was born on December 12, 1970 in Elizabeth, NJ to Michael Hrycenko and the late Dorothy Carney. Karen grew up in Berkeley Heights, NJ and graduated from Governor Livingston High School class of 1988. With her former husband Michael, Karen owned and operated the Belvidere Diner until the recent Covid Pandemic. She was a member of the World Champion Garfield Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. She also loved oil painting and tending to her garden. In addition to her father Michael Hrycenko and his wife Linda, Karen is survived by her loving former husband Michael Protopapas: a son, Mackenzie Protopapas and his wife Bridget Farley; daughters, Theadora Protopapas and Zoe Protopapas; a sister, Pam Luckenbaugh and her husband Scott. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday May 17, 2022 from 3-4 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
