Christopher Joas 73, of Washington Twp formally of Chatham passed away peacefully on June 22, 2013 Born: Chris was born on July 27, 1939 in Camden, NJ to the late Anton and Irene Joas Personal: Chris graduated from Oratory Prep school in Summit, NJ. He joined the US Navy in 1958 and served aboard the Submarine the USS Growler and the nuclear powered submarine the USS John Marshall during the Cold War. Chris returned from his tour of duty and married the love of his live Gayle (Bayer) in 1968. Chris worked as a plant engineer and later as a facilities manager for Stryker Osteonics in Mahwah, NJ. Chris loved growing roses, he had one of the most beautiful rose gardens in the area. Survivors: His loving wife of 45 years Gayle, three daughters Robin Lacorazza and her husband John, Amanda Joas and Melissa Joas; a son Christopher Longfield; two brothers Gregory Joas and Edward Joas; a sister Candy Hunter and seven grandchildren: Brielle, Ian, Michelle, Liam, Logan, Karina and Alicia.
