Obituary of Gayle F Willis

Gayle F. Willis, 62, of Asbury, NJ passed away suddenly on November 2, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital. Born on November 24, 1959 in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was the daughter of Elizabeth "Betty" Smith and the late Harry Smith of Asbury. Gayle was a graduate from Warren Hills High School class of 1978. She spent 20 plus years at Hampton Post Office as a mail clerk, among other jobs. Gayle was a long time member and supporter of the Asbury United Methodist Church. She was an avid dirt track race fan. She loved collecting antiques, celebrating the holidays (Halloween was her favorite), cooking, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially her two grandchildren, Danny Jr. and Bella of Asbury. In addition to her mother and grandchildren, she is survived by a son Daniel Willis and his fiancé Nancy; a brother, Richard Smith and his wife Cheryl; a nephew, Douglas Smith and his wife Karen all of Asbury, NJ. A niece Jennifer Smith of Hampton, NJ and many great nieces and nephews. Gayle was preceded in death by her father Harry B. Smith. An Ex-husband Charles (Charlie) Willis and an infant brother Greg Charles Smith. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday November 8, 2022 from 5-7 PM and again on Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 11 AM- 12 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Gayle's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gayle's name to the Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box162. Asbury, NJ 08802.
