Obituary of Mary J Burd

Mary Burd, 69, of Harmony, NJ passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital surrounded by her family. Mary was born on September 10, 1953 in Lowell, MA to the late Manuel and Jeannine Sousa Sr. Mary grew up in Lowell before moving to Washington, NJ. She was married to her loving husband James Burd for 53 years. Mary was employed as a nurse's aide for Warren haven Nursing Home for many years until her retirement in 2010. She was a past member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 9 in Easton, PA. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time and loved feeding and watching the birds in her back yard. Mary is survived by her husband James; daughters, Jessica McLain (Chris), Sarah Hoppock (Todd) and April Guilfoyle (Stephen); a son, Caleb Burd; sisters, Gloria Dec, Brenda Hawkins and Martha Fox; a brother Manuel Sousa Jr.; Grandchildren Katelyn, Chris Jr. and Kelly McLain. Trevis Oswald, Kayla Hoppock. Jonathan Dodd, Haylee and Stepheni Guilfoyle. James and Peyton Burd and a great granddaughter Kendra Oswald. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
