Obituary of Erminia DiRisio
Erminia "Irma" DiRisio, 88, of Oxford, NJ passed away on December 17, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital with loved ones by her side.
Irma was born on September 26, 1934 to the late Donato Gagliardo and Rose Batali.
Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Irma was born in Paterson; she first visited Warren County with a relative, where she met her sweetheart, Raymond, at his family farm in Washington. Very soon after, in 1952, she relocated to Washington as a young bride. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed making traditional Italian dishes for her loved ones. She raised her family and worked alongside her husband at Piney Ridge Farm, where they first met. In 1962, they founded Warren County Liquors which they owned and operated together until they retired in 1996. Irma enjoyed traveling to Austria, Italy, Bermuda, the Outer Banks, and across the US.
She loved life and lived it with humor, grace, and beauty. If she wasn't humming a tune, she was laughing melodiously. Above all, her faith and family was most important to her.
She is survived by her children; Raymond and wife Sue Feenstra DiRisio and Thomas DiRisio, grandchildren; Daniel DiRisio and wife Heather Noel DiRisio, Dana DiRisio, and Marissa DiRisio and husband Michael Vittoria. Irma also leaves behind her cherished great grandchildren; Camryn Raye Coates and Samuel DiRisio.
In addition to her parents, Irma is preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate, Raymond (2010), her brother, Johnny, sister, Lena and twin sister Josephine
