Obituary of Fennie Van Veldhuisen

Fennie Van Veldhuisen, 86, of Washington Township, NJ passed away peacefully in her home on August 13, 2023. Fennie was born on May 19, 1937 in Enschede, Netherlands to the late Pieter and Marie Euverman. Fennie grew up in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1954 then to the United States. She married her soulmate George (aka Gerritt) Van Veldhuisen Sr. in 1960. She was a homemaker all of her life but she was also in banking earlier in her life. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. Fennie enjoyed shopping, reading and watching the NBA on television. Fennie loved to travel with her family. She was the biggest fan and supporter of her children and later her grandchildren at their sporting events. In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, George, Fennie is survived by her children, Georgetta Ulmer (Glenn), William Van Veldhuisen (Doralee), George Van Veldhuisen Jr. and Peter Van Veldhuisen (Melissa) and 5 grandchildren, Holly Ulmer, Brianna Van Veldhuisen, Garrett Ulmer, Brittney Young (Van Veldhuisen), and Logan Van Veldhuisen. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday August 17, 2023 from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church Of Washington. 40 Church St. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service celebrating Fennie's life will begin at 12:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Fennie's name to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Two Princess Road, Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home.
