Obituary of Nancy Lee Chambellan

Nancy L. Chambellan, 68, of Hope, NJ, and previously of Washington, NJ passed away on January 22, 2024, at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice House in Fredon, NJ. Nancy was born on February 27, 1955, in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Quentin and Margaret Chambellan. Graduating from Warren Hills High School in 1973, she later earned a BA in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College in 1977. Nancy worked as a social worker for the NJ Department of Human Services until her retirement in 1999. She volunteered for many years at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in Upper Montclair, NJ. She was known to many as a master gardener and her irises received numerous awards over the years. Nancy loved to participate in local theater productions and had a passion for singing, songwriting, and playing guitar. Nancy is survived by her siblings; N. Bruce Chambellan and his wife, Sandra, Lorri Schaumberg and Linda LaBoy, and her husband Joe. She also leaves behind her cherished nephew and nieces, Ed and daughters, Patricia, Kathy, Mary, and Erica. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Caroline Hernandez and brother-in-law Ted Schaumberg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nancy's name to a charity of one's choice.
