Obituary of Keith B. Taylor
Keith B. Taylor, 62, of Slatington, PA and previously of Carteret, NJ passed away on January 31, 2024 at his home with his wife by his side.
Keith was born on August 23, 1961 in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late Ralph and Vivian (Knudson) Taylor, and lived in Fords, NJ until he joined the Navy in 1980.
He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School class of 1979 and attended Middlesex County Community College, before going to NJIT, where Keith earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Keith served his country in the United States Navy on a Nuclear Submarine, the USS Skate SSN578 and was a member of the American Legion.
Keith worked as a boiler mechanical inspector for Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. Keith was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air- Conditioning Engineers and a member of I.U.O.E. Local 68.
Keith was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed target shooting in his spare time. He had a passion for music and was able to play the Guitar, Piano, Trumpet, Banjo, and the Mandolin. Keith also enjoyed being outside, gardening or bird and bat watching, and sitting by the fire pit at night drinking beer and sharing memories with his friends and family. Keith was extremely fond of puns, and laughing and joking around was a part of his daily life. Keith's greatest accomplishment is his son, Travis, of whom he was very proud. Together they enjoyed many activities through the years such as karate classes, camping, hiking, archery, target shooting, and many diy projects. They even learned how to use a home computer together. Keith was a wonderful mentor and always had the time to explain (sometimes too much) in detail anything you could want to know.
Keith is survived by his wife of 41 years Cheryl, and their son Travis Taylor and his fiancé Tessa Powers. He also leaves behind his siblings; Alice Taylor, Linda Shaw and her husband Walter, Chris Taylor and his wife Mary and Wesley Taylor and his wife Kathy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
