Obituary of Stuart E Faust 2nd

Stuart “Ed” Faust, 79 of White Township, NJ passed away on March 23, 2024 at home with loved ones by his side. Ed was born in Danville, PA on July 26, 1944, the son of Dr. Stuart and Mildred (Heller) Faust. He graduated from Danville High School in 1962 and Bloomsburg University in 1965. Ed taught 6th and 7th grade at Von E. Mauger (Central) Middle School in Middlesex, NJ for 39 years. He enjoyed camping, the shore, and Boy Scouts, with whom he was active for almost 50 years. Ed was a Scoutmaster of Troop 235 in North Plainfield, NJ and an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 235 and 141 in Belvidere, NJ. He earned the “Scouters Key”, many training awards, and was awarded the “district award of merit” in the Watchung, NJ Council. Ed had a hand in over 50 Eagle Scouts during his tenure including both of his sons; Bill and Keith and his grandson, Christopher. He received many mentoring pins from Eagle Scouts that crossed his path. Ed coached basketball, softball, baseball and football during his years in Middlesex. He was selected as Young Educator of the Year in 1973, Teacher of the Year in 1992 and Who’s Who in American Education numerous times. In addition to scouting, Ed really enjoyed bowling with the “Amazing Grace” Methodist Bowling Team, in North Plainfield, NJ that won 5 championships. Ed was active in church activities where he was a church school superintendent, teacher, usher, lay leader, and trustee in his churches. Ed was predeceased by his parents and siblings; Dorothy and Charles. He is survived by his fantastic wife of 58 years, Anne and their children; Bill Faust (Carol), Keith Faust (Kara) both from North Carolina and Luanne Marie Clark (Chris) of Washington Twp., NJ. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren; Kaitlyn Fiorentino (Brendan), Christopher Clark (Gillian), Jeremy Clark, Emily, Rebecca and Aiden Faust and a great grandson, Owen Fiorentino, whom he loved them all dearly. In his memory donations may be made to Greenstone United Methodist Church, Washington, NJ or the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 141 of Belvidere at 2 Regal Court, Belvidere, NJ 07823. A celebration honoring Ed’s life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 5:30 PM at Hawk Point Golf Club, 4 Clubhouse Drive, Washington, NJ 07882. Business casual dress attire is requested.
