Obituary of Sybrigje Herman
Sybrigje "Siepie" Herman, 80, of Annandale, NJ passed away on August 3, 2024.
Siepie was born in Harlingen, Netherlands to the late Ijnze and Hendrikje Anema. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1948.
Siepie worked as a school business administrator for Hunterdon Central Regional High School until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the Association of School Business Officials at both the NJ and national level. Siepie was very proud to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Centenary College, which she accomplished while working full-time and raising a family. Siepie loved to travel, enjoyed easy listening music and playing mah-jongg. She was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about books with her local book club. Siepie enjoyed staying active and was a regular at the Hunterdon Wellness Center in Clinton, NJ. Her favorite place to relax was at the beach in Brigantine, NJ. Siepie cherished her extended family, and enjoyed spending time with dear friends and neighbors.
Siepie was the matriarch of the family and will be incredibly missed by her three loving daughters; Karen Feuerherm and her husband Bob, Michelle Heide and her husband Dean, and Barb Wester and her husband Jason, and her four grandchildren; Kylie (fiancé Daniel), Isabelle, Jack and Mason. She also leaves behind her granddogs and cats, and her large extended family.
In addition to her parents, Siepie is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Carl; and her siblings; Ralph Anema, John Anema and Betty Bunting, and her nephew Michael Anema.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
