Obituary of Jeffrey Harold Hill

Jeffrey Harold Hill, 76, of Oxford, NJ passed away suddenly on September 23, 2024 in Budapest, Hungary with his loving wife by his side.

Jeff was born on December 23, 1947 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Harold and Lottie Hill.

He was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1966. Jeff went on to further his education at West Virginia Institute of Technology where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Drafting. He married the love of his life, Cherry Staats in 1986. Jeff started his employment at a young age working at his father's business, Harold's Atlantic Station in Washington, NJ. Jeff was employed as an Architectural Mechanical Design Teacher for many years in both Belvidere, NJ and Easton, PA. He owned and operated his own business J. Hill Carpentry. Jeff's knowledge of Carpentry and historic preservation was significant. He never had to advertise, his work was impeccable and word of mouth grew his business rapidly.

Jeff was an avid golfer, although he played golf many places, he was a regular at Fairway. Jeff was an excellent bowler and on many leagues at Oakwood lanes over the years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, deep sea fishing, the beach and he put his heart and soul in to designing and landscaping his home with a pond, waterfall and cabana that over looked his property, Jeff loved to coach sports and coached every sport his children played. He was an ordained minister and even performed the wedding ceremonies of his children. Jeff was the treasurer of the HOA LeBoot in North Wildwood where he owns 2 condos. He loved kids and had a special place in his heart for the Warren County ARC where he was honored last year for his contributions to them. He also received recognitions from the Warren Garden Club, the Strathmore honor and the Cutic Appreciation award from the Oxford Police. At Christmas time Jeff would turn his property into a winter wonderland. Families from all over the surrounding areas would make it a point to drive by and see what the Hill family created new this holiday season. Jeff created many light ups from a helicopter, airplane and boat. He started this for his children years ago and it grew to what it is today for his love of the community. Above all Jeff loved his family, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a man that would help anyone in need, a friend to all. He will be greatly missed.

Jeff is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years Cherry Hill, his loving children; Tammy Cathers and her husband James, Michael Manfra and his wife Barbara, Kimberlee Hill and her companion Ryan, Krista Hill, Jason Hill and his wife Jennifer, Jairison Hill and his wife Ashley, his adored grandchildren; Cody, James, Meadow, Danielle, Nicole, Kayla, Jax, Jase, Makenzie, Angelina, Katrina and Taylor. He also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren; Norah, Lylah, Cheyanne and Landon. His caring sister; Linda Zimmer and her husband Larry, niece, Kelly Darche and her husband Travis.
