Obituary of Grace K. Eagles

Grace K. Eagles, a resident of The House of The Good Shepherd in Hackettstown, NJ, formerly of Lake Hopatcong and St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully at Hackettstown Community Hospital on December 1, 2008. Mrs. Eagles was born on September 10, 1911 in Netcong, NJ, the daughter of the late A. Austin King and the late May Tresize. Mrs. Eagles had a long career as a teacher, spanning 34 years. She taught in Rockaway Township; Roxbury; Dover; Mt. Lakes; Chatham Borough and St. Petersburg Florida. Mrs. Eagles received many honors during her long career, including President of the Morris Co. Educational Association; numerous committees of the N.J. Educational Association, and a Distinguished Service to Education Award from Morris County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dover and enjoyed singing in the choir as well as sharing her excellent voice by singing solos at other area churches. Mrs. Eagles is survived by two nephews and a niece. Her husband, Ralph G. Eagles predeceased her in 1996 after 63 years of marriage. A memorial service is planned for the near future.
