Obituary of Arthur R. Roman
Arthur R. Roman, Jr., 75, of Hampton, NJ died peacefully at Somerset Medical Center on Friday, December 25, 2009.
Born: August 12, 1934 in Staten Island, NY, he was a son of the late Arthur R. Sr. and Muriel Roman.
Personal: His loving wife of 53 years, Caroline, passed away on October 31, 2009. Arthur lived most of his life in Hampton. He was a manager for Hercules Industries in Chester, NJ for 40 years. He graduated from North Hunterdon High School, class of 1952 and attended Churchmen's Business School in Easton.
Memberships: Arthur was a member and past chief of the Hampton Fire Department with over 45 years of service. He served as a Hampton Councilman for twelve years. He was past president of the Hampton Board of Education. He also volunteered his time as a scout master.
Survivors: Three daughters, Carol Kiermaier and her husband Thomas of Dayton, NJ, Cathy Drummond and her husband John of Hampton, Cheryl Kappus and her husband Robert of Whitehouse Station, NJ; a sister Muriel Clark of CA; six grandchildren, Susan Butcher, Tom Kiermaier, Jennifer Good, Matthew Drummond, Joseph and Laura Kappus; one great-grandson Nolan Butcher; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Flever.
Services: Visitation will be held 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave. , Washington . The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the funeral home with the Rev. Irving Angstadt officiating. Cremation will be private.
