Obituary of Barbara J. Slack

Barbara J. Slack, 80, of Oxford, NJ passed away peacefully at Warren Haven Nursing Home on December 8, 2013. Born: On June 10, 1933 in Hazen, NJ to the late John and Josephine Williamson. Personal: Barbara was a lifelong resident of Warren County. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1951; and soon after graduation, on December 13th, 1952, Barbara married her husband, George. They lived in Washington for 60 years. Barbara worked for the Warren County Welfare Board for 30 years. She was a parishioner of the Summerfield United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Barbara enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking; she was known for her phenomenal baking skills. She enjoyed the company of her many dogs throughout the years. Above all, Barbara deeply loved her family and her time spent with them. She will be lovingly remembered. Survivors: Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, George and three loving children: Susan Lackey of Washington, Michelle Dean and her husband Warren of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Daniel Slack and his wife Pam of Washington, her two sisters Anne Smith of Phillipsburg and Kathleen Rudd of Oxford. Barbara had six grandchildren: Jana and her husband CJ, Seth and his wife Heather, Adam, Jonathon, Jordan and Amy; and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased: Her twin brother, Gene Williamson, her brother Donald Williamson, and a sister Doris Harms. Services: Friends and family may call on Friday December 13th, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm. In abiding with Barbara's wishes, Funeral Services and burial will be private. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Summerfield Methodist Church, 53 Summerfield Road, Belvidere, NJ 07823. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
