Obituary of Betty Jean Wysocki

Betty Jean Wysocki, of Washington Borough, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 25, 2013. Born: Betty was born on February 14, 1932 in Astoria, Queens, NY, a daughter of the late Archibald and Edna Tighe. Personal: She lived in Washington Borough for over 30 years. Previously, she had lived in Fairmount and Hackettstown, NJ. Betty worked as an Animal Control Officer with her husband Gary; she served the towns of Washington Borough, Washington Twp, Oxford, White Twp, Franklin, Hackettstown, Lotapcong and Belvidere. Betty would be the friendly face that would arrive, to so many animal distress calls from the residents of Warren County. Many people came to know and love Betty for her love of animals and her close work with Dr. Blease, of Common Sense for Animals. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She attended Hackettstown High School and graduated from New York High School class of 1950, as a Salutatorian. Betty supported the Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab Group. She enjoyed playing piano and loved the New York Mets baseball team. Survivors: Her loving husband of 40 years, Gary; five daughters, Deborah Dickinson and her husband Ray, Diane Bludworth and her husband David, Dawn DeRemer, Dale Winters and her husband John, and Darla Quaranta and her husband Ralph, one brother, Robert Tighe; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A brother, Richard Tighe passed away earlier. Services: Visitation, Friday, March 1, 2013, 1 to 3:00 p.m., and 6 to 9:00 p.m., Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234. W. Washington, Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services, Saturday, March 2, 2013, 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jerry Scott, Officiating, Faith Discovery Church, 33 Brass Castle Rd, Washington, NJ 07882. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Fairmount, NJ.
