Finita was a member of the Washington Public Library's Board of Trustees when I was hired to begin in 2000. She was always very interested in helping the library and furthering literacy in the community. She also served as chair of the Audio/Visual Policy Committee, and would preview gifts to the library for condition and suitability; she also made astute recommendations for new purchases. She had an active intelligence coupled with a lively wit and warm heart, and it was always a pleasure to converse with her. The onset of macular degeneration was devastating to her, yet she remained on the Library Board for as long as she could read the large print reports. Her contributions to the community were numerous, and she will be missed. Barbara A. Rose
