Obituary of Carolyn J. Carey

Carolyn J. Carey, 72 of White Twp passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital Warren campus. Born: on July 26,1941 in the Bronx, NY and raised by her parents, the late John Mathys and Helen Mathys. Personal: Carol was raised along the NJ shore, resided in OH, TX,and CA before moving to White Twp 35 years ago. She was the owner of Flannery's Tavern in White Twp. Carol was a former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed Gardening, hiking and loved volunteering her time to community service. She loved taking care of people; she was a listener, adviser, and ideas person. Survivors: a daughter Deborah Cooper and her husband Tim, two sons Jim Carey and his wife Susan, John Carey and his wife Adrienne; Her loving companion of twelve years Jim McClellen; a brother John Mathys II and his wife Ginny; and grandchildren--Brittney and her husband Bryan, Nichole, Katie, James, Brenden, Spencer, Austin. Carol's husband Howard Carey, a brother Mal Wright and a sister Joan Mathys preceded her in death. Services: a Memorial will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
