Obituary of Christopher Stopard

Christopher Stopard, 78 of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully and entered the arms of his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on July 7, 2016. Born on December 25, 1937 in South Hempsall, England to the late George and Catherine Stopard. Christopher was formerly of RI, MA, NJ and TX before moving back to New Jersey in 1999, where he worked as a local crossing guard. Christopher was a Plant Manager for Johnson & Johnson in Somerville before retiring in 1993. In his youth Chris was very athletic, he enjoyed playing Rugby, Hurdling and Boxing in Keighley, West Yorkshire. He was an avid reader and loved to watch old movies, especially John Wayne movies. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Mollie Stopard, his loving children, Angela, Judith, Gillian, Kathryn, Denise, and step-children Carole and Garry, 2 Sisters-in-law, Irene, Liz and her husband Bryan, as well as 16 cherished grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service celebrating Christopher's life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M at the Bunnvale Assembly of God Church, 285 Route 513, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826 In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Christopher's name to the Bunnvale Assembly of God Missions.
