Obituary of Terrence P Garvey

Terrence Peter Garvey, 73, of Pohatcong Township, passed away suddenly at home on July 16, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1943 in Staten Island, NY to the late Thomas and Joan Garvey. Terry attended Delbarton high school and later transferred and graduated from Saint Philip & James high school, class of 1961. He was a 49 year resident of Pohatcong. Formerly of Asbury, NJ, where he met the love of his life, his wife, Linda. He served in the US Army as a military police officer in Alaska during the Vietnam War. Terry worked as a Union Laborer for Local 569 out of Washington NJ until his retirement in 1992. He loved to hunt and fish. He was especially fond of fly fishing. He enjoyed keeping his mind sharp and challenged himself with word puzzles. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Linda; Daughters Christine Garvey, April Garvey and her husband Matthew, Crystal Garvey and her partner Eric, and Terry Lynne Garvey; His son Thomas Garvey and his wife Jodie Garvey and his 2 granddaughters Payton and Reagan. Services will be held at Asbury Methodist Church on Saturday July 23rd at 12:00 noon. Donations may be made in Terry's name to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St. Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
