Obituary of Robert E Egan

Robert E. Egan, 78, of Washington, NJ formerly of Warren NJ passed away at home on November 3, 2018. Robert was born on April 4, 1940 in Newark, NJ to the late Robert and Ethel Egan. Robert graduated from Morris Hills Regional high school class of 1959. He served proudly in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Robert was employed as a Police Officer with the Chatham Township police department for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1996. He also served as a Morris County drug and alcohol counselor. He was a life member of the USMC League. He is survived by a brother, Gary Egan. A sister Arlene Teets. Nephews, Brian, John and Mike Teets. Close friends Tom Ramsey and retired Chatham Police Chief Walter McCray. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Egan. Family and friend may pay their respects on Wednesday November 7, 2018 from 5-6 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated immediately following at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Rest Land Memorial Park in East Hanover.
