Dear Dad,
In the days that followed your passing, I had time to do a lot of thinking and remembering. You were a pretty special guy, and always a good father to me.
I remember so many things about you from my childhood on.
You liked taking walks, and had a direct ahead purposeful stride that I tried to imitate. You were never in the military because of your asthma, but you walked like a soldier.
Hanging out with you in the back yard when you worked on the cars. I handed you tools, asked a lot of questions, sometimes made suggestions, and learned some new words, which you told me not to say in front of Mom.
Working with you taught me to work with my head, hands and tools.
I even followed your example in matters of the heart, and asked Charlotte to marry me at Midnight Mass just as you asked Mom.
I remember all the funny sayings you had, like: “It’s a whole lot later than it’s been all day”, so I will close with this:
I know you always liked cold clear winter nights, so some night this month with the sky as transparent as glass, and the stars like diamond pinpoints, I will look up, think of you, and smile.
With Love,
Your Son, Bill

Dear Dad, I love you more than words could ever say. Thank you for your love and for always being there for me. I'll never forget how many times you came to pick me up when I ran out of gas or had car problems. I always knew you were just a phone call away. There was never a doubt in my mind that if I was in trouble you would soon be there to save the day. Never upset with me. Always calm and loving. Dad, you were a precious gift to me and I will hold you in my heart forever. Thank you, Dad. I love you. Always, Barbara ... aka Zeke ;)
