Obituary of George J Oravetz

George J. Oravetz, 90, of Rome, PA passed away peacefully on April 16, 2019 at Hunterdon Medical Center. George was born on March 19, 1929 in Newark, NJ to the late Stephen and Anna Oravetz. George grew up in Irvington, NJ and attended Irvington high school class of 1947. He served proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. George was employed as an Iron Worker in Union, NJ until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion Post 328 in Clark, NJ. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and summer vacations down the Jersey shore. George is survived by his Sister-in-law Patricia Oravetz, nieces Michelle Hamberger and her fiancé Ken Keisewetter, Patricia D'Astoli and her husband Frank, nephew Steven Oravetz and his wife Susie. He was preceded in death by his brothers Steve Oravetz and Arthur Oravetz. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
