Obituary of Donald Heft

Donald "Sonny" Heft Sr. 76 a lifelong resident of the Hampton & Asbury area passed away peacefully on July 23, 2014 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born: on February 2, 1938 in Hampton, NJ to the late Howard and Nellie "Snyder" Heft. Personal: Donald graduated from Washington high school class of 1956. He married the love of his life Myra "Drake" Heft in 1985. Donald worked as a welder/grinder for thirty seven years for the Mohawk Manufacturing Co in Whitehouse Station, retiring in 1995. Donald enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, hunting and fishing. He loved feeding and watching his wild birds. He cherished time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors: his loving wife of 29 years Myra; Four daughters Elizabeth, Tammy, Linda and Lorie; Eight sons Mike, Donald Jr., Mark, Steven, Keith, Tim, James and Kevin; Two brothers Ronald Heft and Gary Heft; Two sisters Randy Prostak and Shirley Black. 28 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by three brothers Richard, Robert and Howard. Services: Friends and family may call on Saturday July 26, 2014 from 1-4 PM. Funeral services will be celebrated following visitation at 4 PM with Pastor Gary Ettlemyer officiating. Memorials: donations may be made in Donald's name to the American Lung Association of NJ, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
