I just learned that her light went out. My prayers & love to her family. She will be missed by many who knew her & those whose paths crossed hers. She was a bright light in a sometimes dark world.

I am so sorry that we have lost such a bright light in women's fiction. Sherri's words made an outsized difference to all of us who have been fortunate enough to have read them and for our friends and family who have benefitted from the changes for the better her words have catalyzed in us. She has changed the world for many people who were lucky enough to find the works of this amazing writer and thinker. Rest in peace Sherri. Your words will live on to continue helping others. Thank you.

A writer of stories, painter, artist, soul soother, a gather of lost souls, and broken people,,, Sherrie always had time. If you needed her, she was there. Never asking for you to do anything in return. Loved unconditionally. She tried to leave this world a better place. She did for me. I am better for having known her. I will miss you and our Monday afternoon talks.

She pointed out landmarks more enduring than most I had been using.
She took me in when I had nothing but money
She let me weep and smoke cigarettes in the cold... in the walk... in front of her house
She went to the trouble to discover things I care about
She put me back together with duct tape and baling wire
Among many things, she told me, "If you continue in the direction you are going, you will find that there aren't many people there."...
Followed by a sort of a smirk, "But then, we've already discovered there weren't many people where you came from."
It's curious... here in the first few days, I discover/notice that I have nobody left to defer to.
But it's early... I expect it will get more difficult
Some how or other she showed me this... I don't know if I've learned how to show it to others
I probably owe her some poems

I have known Sherrie for about 20 years. She had a love and zest for life that was infectious. I moved from the area 12 years ago however she and I talked regularly. We spoke right before Passover and I had been thinking of calling her the day I heard she passed. I like to think she was taping me on the shoulder like she was there letting me know she was part of my Angel crew as I call them. I am blessed if she is part of that crew.
Yes we all are ready for life to resume. How I wish Sherrie Theriault had that chance. How I wish we all who knew her had 1 more chance to have one last talk with her to convey how much we loved her, how she inspired each of us, how her smile and twinkle in her eyes could turn a bad day into a day full of laughter and love.
She wasnt a saint before however today she is. She graced us with a glimpse of what an Angel was when she was among us.
She will be missed by more than those on her Facebook page. 1000s if not 10s of 1000 people who have read her works or will read her works will be inspired by her as each of us who knew her were.
To the family of Sherrie Theriault know our prayers are with each of you. We share in your grief. She will live on forever in our hearts.
From a heartbroken friend of our dear Sherrie

The love you showered on so many will be passed on for years to come. A true inspiration to many, whom I will truly miss.
